Gemma Arterton is in negotiations to star in dark comedy The Wright Girls.
The Bafta-nominated actress is thought to be considering playing one half of the duo, who live together as pretend best friends and are co-stars on a successful TV show, reported Heat Vision blog.
However, in reality, the 'friends' can't stand one another and go to increasingly violent lengths to prevent each other from getting a contested film role.
There had been rumours that Megan Fox was interested in playing the other girl, but sources now say she is not involved.
Andy Fickman is in talks to direct the movie, which has been inspired by the Japanese film 2LDK and adapted by Easy A's Bert Royal.
Gemma - whose recent films include Tamara Drewe, Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, Clash Of The Titans and The Disappearance Of Alice Creed - will next be seen in Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters opposite Jeremy Renner.
