He then became abusive according to doorman Jerry Link, who added that Worthington - who is playing a DEA agent in a project filming in Atlanta - began to shout: “I'm a DEA agent! You f***ed up now!”

He was then pepper sprayed and restrained while the police were called.

Worthington turned out to be intoxicated and without proper ID. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

But the charges against Worthington were dropped yesterday, after the doorman from the venue failed to turn up to court.

The 36-year-old, English-born Australian has a number of forthcoming projects in the pipeline.

As well as being rumoured to reprise his role of paraplegic marine Jake Sully in 'Avatar 2', he's co-starring in forthcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle '10', and 'Thunder Run' with Gerard Butler and Matthew McConaughay.
