This is one of those films that has remained in peoples minds as one of the best sci-fi movies of all time and it's partly due to the stunning (for 1985 anyway) visual effects but mainly down to the story. What's more simple than a story about sombody trying to get home? Add to that a possible sexual encounter with your own mother and you're talking about solid movie gold. Fox is superb as the lovable teenager out of tme, trying to fit in while setting the time line set, and Lloyd is beyond memorable as the Doc, both having such incredible on screen chemistry. This film is one you can still enjoy today, as are the sequals, and kids are still finding out its prowess as a genre leader over 20 years after its original release.
