DVD Review

Be Cool, like its predecessor Get Shorty, was adapted by Elmore Leonard from his own novel, while Quentin Tarantino also sourced a Leonard book (Rum Punch) for Jackie Brown. Get the picture? The guy can write!

John Travolta reprises his original role as Chili Palmer, the hoodlum-turned-entertainment entrepreneur. This time he's taking on the music biz, adopting and an aspiring young singer (Christina Milian) and sparring with idiot wannabe Vince Vaughn.

High points include performances by the gorgeous Milian and former wrestler The Rock camping it up, while dragooning Uma Thurman into dancing with Travolta, as if some of Pulp Fiction's fairydust will fall on them as a result, is surely a low.

Extras include: behind the scenes with F. Gary Gray; gag reel; deleted scenes; Close-Up featurettes on The Rock, André 3000 and Christina Milian plus the music video for The Rock as Elliot Wilhelm singing You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man.
