Jaguar advert spoofs British movie villains

Have you ever noticed how in Hollywood movies all the villains are played by Brits? Well, Jaguar have, and they’re using some notoriously menacing UK stars to play up that point in their new TV ad.

Due to be aired during the Super Bowl XLVIII, British actors Ben Kingsley, Mark Strong and Tom Hiddleston join forces to make this the best dressed, most dastardly car commercial ever (it just happens to be directed by ‘The King’s Speech’ and ‘Les Mis’ filmmaker Tom Hooper, too).

“Maybe we just sound right?” asks ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and ‘Robin Hood’ baddie Strong, in that brooding voice of his.

“We’re more focused, more precise,” adds ‘Thor’ villain Hiddleston, sipping tea in a helicopter, “Stiff upper lip is key.”

“Oh yes," booms Kingsley, "it’s good to be bad.”

If only they had Alan Rickman, we’d be straight down that dealership…

Jaguar’s ‘Rendevouz’ advert will screen during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl XLVIII, due to start Sunday 2 February 23.30 GMT.
