Ben Whishaw has signed up for new low-budget drama Lilting.
The 32-year-old British actor - most recently seen playing gadget guru Q in James Bond film Skyfall - will co-star with Cheng Pei Pei in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is about people falling in love without a common language and follows a Chinese mother who is grieving for her son. Ben will play the son's bereaved lover, who the mum thinks was just her son's roommate.
Peter Bowles, Morven Christie and Andrew Leung will also star in the movie, which is being directed by Hong Khaou.
Lilting is backed by FilmLondon's low budget filmmaking funding strand Microwave, which produces films for budgets of up to £120,000.
