It was reported in the Spring that a script has been written for the sequel - which would pick up from 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' - by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote both 'Bogus Journey' and the original 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'.

It's also thought that Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves will reprise their roles as the air-headed rock fans of the title Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan, roles they last played in 1991.

The plot will pick up in the present day, Winter saying that it will concern 'what's happened to rock & roll in the last 20 years'.

“The movies were always about rock & roll, that was a big part of the movies, so [we’ll explore] what’s happened to rock & roll in the last 20 years,” Winter told MTV earlier this year.

“So the movie’s gonna get in and play with some of that stuff: where’s rock, where are we, what’s happened to the whole idea of saving the world, or what hasn’t happened?”
