Billy Dee Williams reprises Lando Calrissian role to dance with R2-D2

Billy Dee Williams, the 76-year-old actor fondly remembered as intergalactic rogue Lando Calrissian in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, has reprised his iconic role for a dance routine on ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

The actor donned his distinctive blue tunic and did the cha-cha to a cheesy rendition of the ‘Star Wars’ theme. He even roped in astromech droid R2-D2 and some Stormtroopers to complete the reunion of sorts.

Billy Dee’s dancing partner Emma Slater topped off the theme with a vaguely Princess Leia-esque outfit, replete with cinnamon roll hair buns.

His moves are not bad for someone who has recently had two hip operations, and two Ewoks in the crowd seemed to enjoy the performance.

But he can’t rely on R2 every week, so we expect an early demise from the dancing show.

Williams first played Lando Calrissian in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ back in 1980, coming back for ‘Return of the Jedi’ in 1983.

He recently lent his voice for a ‘The LEGO Movie’ cameo and has been vocal about his eagerness for Lando to return in ‘Star Wars: Episode 7’, but nothing has been confirmed to date.
