With 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' scooping the most nominations, it was always going to be an exciting battle to see who would take home the most BAFTA masks. Add into the mix a host of A-list actors who walked the red carpet either to present an award or hoping to receive one, it really was an exciting night.The late Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'The Dark Knight'.

heath ledger, despite his death, which is really a shame as he showed his true and expansive skills as an actor in this role. filling in the role which Jack. N played and superseded and took the role on and took it further and darker than any other actor i could ever think of being capable of doing so....R.I.P Heath Ledger.. you left us so early in life with a fantastic epitaph to remember you by....
