It looks like Hollywood is close to assembling its A-Team for the big screen re-make of the classic 80s TV show.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but Liam Neeson is in talks to play John 'Hannibal' Smith – the charismatic leader of The A-Team. The role was made famous on the TV show by late actor George Peppard.
Neeson's name for the part has come from nowhere, but it's an inspired choice. Certainly, it's a more interesting name than others that have been rumoured including Bruce Willis and Mark Wahlberg.
The Neeson news follows reports that Bradley Cooper is likely to play womaniser Templeton 'Faceman' Peck. The actor has been used mostly in supporting roles in comedies like 'The Wedding Crashers' and 'Failure To Launch', but has been propelled into the big time thanks to his stand out turn in US box office smash 'The Hangover'.
Terminator Salvation's Common is being heavily linked to follow in the incredibly huge footsteps of Mr T to play B.A Baracus. If true, it would see the rapper/actor reunited with his 'Smokin Aces' director Joe Carnahan, who is on helming duties.
It means the only question mark is on 'Howlin mad' Murdock. Woody Harrelson has been mooted, as has Ryan Reynolds, whose star seems to have risen rappidly since marrying Scarlett Johansson in 2008 but they are yet to be decided.
Neeson and Cooper are canny casting ideas that should ensure some short term goodwill from the show's fans, but do we really need an A-Team movie? Mr T has already told Yahoo! Movies that he refuses to give the film his blessing, and the other living actors from the show look to follow suit.
Are you excited about the film? Or do you pity the fool who has to take on the infamous characters?
Who would you pick as your perfect A-Team?

Robert Pattinson has become Britain's biggest star of late with 'Twilight' a huge hit, and 'New Moon' set to be even bigger.

I dont think an A-Team movie would work. Previous big screen adaptations of T.V. shows( i.e. Knightrider, Miami Vice,The Simpsons) have flopped in comparison to their T.V. originals. I pity the fool who has to play B.A. Baracus in the movie, as that role was made legendary by Mr. T.

Posted by: tobywilliambeal on Thu Jun 11 07:48PM | Report abuseOh goodness, I have very mixed feelings about this. Part of me says that the A-Team is perfect pure 80s classic stuff and should be left alone. But part of me wants to see a new version if it's true that Liam Neeson is to be cast as Hannibal, because that might just work and carry the whole thing along. And really, I don't think it's too important what the surviving original actors think. It was dear George Peppard who always carried the original show and the other actors. It was his show. What a legend. Neeson could pull it off. He's a legend too.

Posted by: chrisles24 on Sun Jun 14 08:30PM | Report abuseHow can you remake something that is classic TV? As it has already been said, it has not worked for other shows. It worked in the 80's but to revamp it for the present is just suicide. I am an avid fan of the show and i think just say no to a movie. If it aint broke, don't try and fix it!!!!!!
