A romantic love triangle drama has been branded the worst movie ever made.
'The Room' has become something of a cult sensation in the US – with late night screenings selling out, and 'Knocked Up' star Paul Rudd a self-confessed devotee.
The film tells the tale of a banker named Johnny, who is caught up in a love triangle between his manipulative girlfriend and his best friend.
It has led many to proclaim the film’s director, writer and lead actor Tommy Wiseau, as the next Ed Wood – the famed director who made the endearingly awful 'Plan 9' and was the subject of the Tim Burton biopic.
There are plenty of bad films released every year – so what makes a great bad film?
The 50 Worst Movies of All Time author, Harry Medved, explained to The Times, "Wiseau is like a modern-day Ed Wood — he's a dreamer. In the Fifties and Sixties there was a lot of strained seriousness that produced wonderfully awful films.
"Then in the Eighties a camp aesthetic took hold when people realised they could harness moviegoers' love of bad drama and suddenly they were all doing it with a wink and a smile. It doesn't work as well when it's intentional."
'The Room', which is being shown in London in November, isn't the first movie to escape the wrath of the critics and go on to blossom in its own right. 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' and 'Showgirls' were flops when they were released but have a found a bigger audience through 'so bad it's good' status.
What 'bad films' do you love... 'Snakes on a Plane' and 'The Transporter' anyone?

Robert Pattinson has become Britain's biggest star of late with 'Twilight' a huge hit, and 'New Moon' set to be even bigger.

I love virtually any film that Jason Statham is in.He is no Lawrence Olivier but you know exactly what you are going to get from him.Is Transporter the best worst film ever-hmmm-I don't know- it is run pretty close by Crank and Crank 2,both of which are preposterous, but huge fun just the same. The worst WORST film ever?-any Uwe Boll film.Check out Blood Raine and In the Name of the King, they are absolutely awful with no redeeming features at all.

Posted by: archie_andrews48 on Mon Nov 16 06:56PM | Report abuseBad Films? Take your pick of these with their obvious plot-lines / unfunny scenes / overpaid stars: Mega-Shark versus Giant Octopus, Ocean's 12, Dracula- Dead & Loving It, anything with Meg Ryan in it, ANY Games Console tie-in (Mario, etc), Kate & Leopold, in fact most of that slushy girly bobbins that doesn't happen in real life, Most of the films with "3: The Revenge" in the title. I'm sure you guys can rack up many, many more of those 2 hours you'll never get back in your life...!
