    • Avengers: What are Marvel’s new mystery films?

Over the weekend president of Marvel films Kevin Feige revealed to Bloomberg that his company, whose monster hit 'Avengers Assemble' broke the $1 billion mark this week, has five more films in the works, only three of which have been officially announced. These are 'Iron Man 3', which will begin shooting in just over a week, 'Thor 2' and 'Captain America 2'.  'Avengers 2' can be ruled out as this was announced last week.

So... what are the other two?

Assembled... The Avengers ready to defend Earth

Firstly, we can safely assume there's a Hulk film in the works, seeing as the big man stole the show in 'Avengers' and Mark Ruffalo - who played Dr Bruce Banner - recently signed a six film deal with Marvel.

As previous unsuccessful efforts prove however, a standalone Hulk project is tricky business. Some of what made the big green monster a hit in The Avengers will (possibly) be

    • This weekend sees the release of Mel Gibson's new film 'How I Spent my Summer Vacation' (which he starred in and co-wrote) and guess what; it's actually pretty good.

Raucous, action-packed and refreshingly un-PC (no surprises there, perhaps), it's a timely reminder of why he became such a huge action star in the first place.

      Gibson back to his best

The problem for Mel is, will anyone go and see it?

The film didn't even get a theatrical release in the USA (it was also called 'Get the Gringo' there, weirdly). It went straight to video-on-demand and we're doubtful it'll do brisk business here. Firstly, it's up against new Johnny Depp/Tim Burton comedy 'Dark Shadows' and the still-strong 'Avengers Assemble', and of course, it stars a man who these days is more famous for his drunken anti-Semitic rants than being a heartthrob.

    • As you can see from our exclusive first full length trailer, classic 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoon 'Top Cat' has got a big screen makeover.

Produced by a Mexican animation house Anima Studios, it sees T.C., Benny the Ball, Fancy Fancy, Choo Choo, Spook and Brains return for a feature length adventure, where one again the gang are still at war with Police Chief Strickland.

[Related video: Exclusive 'Dark Shadows' featurette]

The animation style is a slightly odd mix of 2D animation and CGI, but bizarrely it's already broken box-office records in Mexico. It became the highest grossing Mexican-produced film ever.

We'll find out how it does in the UK when it's released on 1 June .

Tell us what you make of the 'Top Cat: The Movie' trailer in the comments section below…

    • A boffin has counted how many bullets were fired at James Bond during his movie career, and calculated the secret agent's odds of survival.

Suspension of disbelief is an important thing in the movie world, but an avid New Scientist reader has watched all the flicks, and told the magazine exactly how many bullets the British super-spy has evaded.

You missed... none of Robert Carlyle's bullets hit Bond (Credit: Rex Features)

Gordon Stanger estimates that over the 22 Hollywood films made to date, James Bond has dodged a whopping 4,662 bullets. And according to his calculations, the odds of survival are almost none. Or, to put it more scientifically:

"A static well-aimed shot would almost certainly have proved lethal, but assuming all 4662 were 'on the run', the probability of a single fatal shot is about 5 per cent.

"That is, the chance of a single shot missing is 0.95, and hence the probability of all shots missing is 0.954662 or 1.4 × 10-104, which is
