New ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D’ poster unveiled

Now Lucasfilm have got the 'Star Wars' Blu-ray done and dusted, they've turned their attention to plugging the big screen 3D re-releases of the films.

See 'Exhibit A': a brand new poster for 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3D', due in cinemas February 10, 2012.

Despite the Jar Jar factor, we've kind of got a soft spot for 'Menace'. Liam Neeson is ace, plus the three-way lightsaber duel at the end is perhaps the best action scene in the entire franchise.

With this in mind, it's no surprise Darth Maul, the coolest prequel character, takes centre stage on the poster, alongside some mini-podracers.

Another observation: no Jake Lloyd (ickle Anakin) - unlike the original poster.

Besides the 3D trickery added this time, fans will also (presumably) get to sample the new CGI Yoda, replacing the original rubbish puppet on the Blu-ray.

All six films will eventually be re-released in 3D.
