‘Prometheus’ paper trailer impresses studio
Fan-crafted sci-fi trailer praised by Alien prequel writer Damon Lindelof
Ridley Scott's new sci-fi epic 'Prometheus' might have received a mixed response from critics, but a fan trailer made of paper shapes has garnered unanimous praise.
Los Angeles filmmaker Travis Betz recreated one of the film's many trailers exactly, only entirely out of paper (cue jokes about Scott's one-dimensional characters). It's already been viewed almost 120,000 times on his YouTube channel and now, according to THR, it's caught the eye of the film's real life writer.

'Prometheus' scribe Damon Lindelof linked to the trailer on Twitter, announcing: "God Bless You, Oh Maker of Papermetheus!"
20th century Fox bigwig Chris Petrikin also praised the effort, saying: "This is further proof that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that talent is everywhere."
Betz himself was coy about his achievements.
"Alien is one of my all time favourite films and when I saw the trailer, I got chills", he said. "It was so visually cool and I thought it would be interesting to see if I could pull of a shot-by-shot recreation of the official trailer entirely with paper."
'Prometheus' is in cinemas now.
