Official Lone Ranger trailer lands online

The long-awaited trailer for 'The Lone Ranger' has finally made it online.

The official video (it was leaked earlier today) features a rocking soundtrack, slow motion action shots and some dark cinematography that certainly sets it apart from the child friendly Lone Ranger we remember.

Listen out for the voice of Johnny Depp's Tonto as he calls the Lone Ranger by his nickname, Kemosabe, in a Native American brogue.

The film has been in and out of the gossip columns since it was announced. Rumours of an exploding budget on the Jerry Bruckheimer production and the fact that Johnny Depp appears to have a dead crow on his head all hit headlines over the last year.

Depp plays American Indian Tonto to 'The Social Network' star Armie Hammer's Lone Ranger. Director Gore Verbinski, who has helmed past Depp vehicles including three of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films and 'Rango' takes the reigns on the picture.

Also among the cast are Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper and British actor Harry Treadaway.

It's not due for release in the UK until 9 August 2013, so this clip could be all that's coming for a short while.
