Looking a bit like Brad Pitt doesn't mean you get paid like him, it seems.

While Pitt coins in a reported £16 million a year, a body double for the actor has revealed that he was paid just £4.44 an hour for his work on zombie action film 'World War Z'.

David Paterson from Lasswade, Midlothian, had to shadow Pitt's scenes on the set while filming in a branch of Kwik Save in Cardonald, Glasgow.

Paterson, a 26-year-old solicitor hired for his similar vital statistics to the Hollywood star, put in a solid 18-hour day on the film, but was told not to speak to Pitt on set.

“I basically had to be Brad for the day and copy everything he did on screen,” he told the Daily Mirror.

“Brad was there the entire time, and they were filming over the course of months, so it must have been quite tough.

“I was paid £80 but it wasn’t anything to do with the money. I’m not too fussed about that.

“I did it for the experience. You get asked to do something like that and you can’t really say no.”

But despite his participation in the film, he's didn't get invited to the premiere and has yet to see the film, which has grossed nearly $430 million around the world.

“I didn’t get a VIP pass for the film, nothing like that at all, and I haven’t seen it yet. I walked away with around £80, no autograph and no VIP invites,” he added.

Talking about the nuts and bolts of the job, Paterson went on: “Brad and I ran through the supermarket putting tins and jars into the trolley, acting out different scenes, and I was following his actions.

“I wore identical clothes to him, jeans, blue jacket and T-shirt. I had the same physique as him, both slim built, though not any more as I’ve put on weight since then.

“Brad’s a very professional guy and I had a job to do and I just did it to the best of my ability.”
