Russell Brand asked Katy Perry to keep footage of their relationship out of her upcoming movie, it has emerged.
The 36-year-old comedian was still with the Wide Awake singer when she was making her concert film Part Of Me and agreed to appear in it on the condition that he saw the final edit, reports The Sun. He also asked that scenes focusing on their romance would be kept out of the movie.
As the couple have since split after 14 months of marriage, Russell reportedly called his ex last week to find out what would be in the movie.
A source told The Sun: "When she first decided to make the movie in 2010, Russell agreed to be filmed on the condition he got to see the final edit. Being a fly-on-the-wall documentary, he knew full well that it was going to be warts and all - and wasn't best comfortable with that. But Katy persuaded him to do it.
"Now they have broken up, she can keep whatever she wants in the film."
Katy has previously revealed she won't hold back in the biopic.
Earlier this year the 27-year-old told Radio 1: "It would cover all of last year, which was the most intense year I think of my life. You'll appreciate this film because I feel like if you know everything about me, which you do kinda, you'll know even more."
"It's basically like being in bed with me," she added.
