Renee Zellweger's third outing as Bridget Jones is still hanging in the balance, it has been revealed.
The Hollywood star played the much-loved character in two movies and was expected to reprise the role again but Eric Fellner, of British production company Working Title Films, has now admitted the project's future is uncertain.
He told ComingSoon.net: "Well, we're always looking at it.
"We'll only do it if we can crack it creatively so maybe we will, maybe we won't. We'll see what happens. If we can get it right next year, we'll try and do it next year, but if we can't, we won't."
Bridget Jones's Diary, also starring Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, was released in 2001 and was followed by Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason three years later.
The next film is thought to be titled Bridget Jones's Baby.
It apparently sees Bridget trying to have a baby with Mark Darcy (Colin), while bad boy Daniel Cleaver (Hugh) remains on the scene.
