Bryan Singer tweets Magneto video

Sir Ian McKellen appears in make-up, along with a host of magnetic objects

'X-Men' director Bryan Singer has posted a new Magneto-heavy video on Twitter.

Singer has been dropping various teaser pictures from the production, which begins its principle photography on April 15 in Montreal.

This latest video, using the Twitter app Vine, brings together a host of metal objects before finally settling on Sir Ian McKellen in make-up, who flashes the camera a cheeky wink.

OK, so granted it's no major plot point, but it will doubtless please the hardcore 'X-Men' fanbase, which is keen as mustard for this latest instalment to get moving.

Singer also recently tweeted a prop picture, showing a mocked-up Oxford University thesis for the CIA on genetic mutation by James McAvoy's character Charles Xavier.

'X-Men: Days of Future Past' sees Singer back in the director's chair – he helmed the first two films before Brett Ratner took over for 'X-Men: Last Stand' and then Matthew Vaughn on origin story 'X-Men: First Class'.

When Vaughn bowed out – to take on his forthcoming project with comic book writer Mark Miller called 'The Secret Service – Singer stepped in to helm the franchise once more.

So far the film has a stellar cast of both new and returning characters.

Thanks to the plot of the original comic book series, which involves parallel future and past storylines, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will play dual roles of Professor X and Magneto with the original stars Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.

Also returning will be Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Anna Paquin as Rogue, Ellen Page as Shadowcat and Halle Berry as Storm.

There are also roles for 'Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage, playing a so-far unnamed villain, Omar Sy and Booboo Stewart.

It's due for release on July 18, 2014.
