We all know about Cinderella, right? Wicked stepmother, fairy godmother, Prince Charming. Well, this teen-oriented flick turns the fairy tale into a modern City Of Angels story, replete with Beverly Hills 90210 and Clueless-esque stylings.

Life for teenager Sam Montgomery (Hilary Duff) takes a considerable turn for the worse when her dad is killed in an earthquake. Now, not only does she work at his restaurant but she has to spend every spare second pandering to her stepmum (Jennifer Coolidge) and her two airhead stepsisters. Like most girls at her school, Sam is besotted by star quarterback Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray), but what she doesn't know is that he's also the boy with whom she's secretly been chatting to online and agreed to accompany to the Homecoming Ball. Using a wafer-thin mask to hide her identity Sam goes but as the clock strikes midnight she... well, you know the rest (bar the substitution of a glass slipper for a mobile phone).

There's plenty of colour, teen comedy high-jinks, sassy attitude (mainly from Regina King as Sam's 'fairy godmother') and beautiful youngsters.

Extras include cast commentary, Cinderella Couture - The Making of a Fashionably Modern Fairytale, deleted scenes, Find Your Prince or Princess menu challenge, screen tests and the Our Lips Are Sealed music video.
