Denounced for his effeminate manner in his home land, the upbeat Chouchou, a gay North African cross-dresser, manages to sneak into Paris as an illegal immigrant. Posing as a Chilean refugee, he is taken in by an open-minded priest. Soon he is working under the table as maid, receptionist and cook for one of the priest's parishioners, living out his dreams being able to work dressed as a woman.
