The movie's general atmosphere and concept

DV cam is sometimes frustrating, the storyline

A giant monster attacks New York and the US marines try to pummel it's a$$... There's also a corny love story mingled in this mess... the storyline is not very original...

The whole idea of the movies being on DV is very intresting even though sometimes you'd wish the guy was filming the monster instead of his shoes. I also loved the way this is more a "love story" that unfortunately happens while a monster is attacking... The monster is more a part of the environment than a character in itself as it's usualy the case (like in king kong or the host for ex)....

Also the buzz around this film, the mysteries and the question you ask yourself once you've seen it is something I enjoy (I'm a lost buff BTW).

To enjoy this movie you have to enjoy the "monster movie" genre overwise I don't think you'll like it.
