Review

This is the 1st time Iv writen a review on yahoo and the reason for it is because I cant believe my eyes at the negative reviews by other people. Here goes. Anyone who says this film is rubbish is just plain stupid/wrong, or, they werent paying attention to the screen when it was on.

This is the film Godzilla wishes it was. This flick is highly original in the sense that there is no 'background story', no 'conclusion' to the battle between the army and the creature. It is what it is, and that is a tense ,original (even though there is a Jap film called 'Monster' which is basically a cheap rip-off of this).

In conclusion - Blair Witch ( with good acting ) meets Godzilla ( with no dumb-ass filler story ). The thing that gets you with Cloverfield is you actually feel for the 'victims' who are filming whats going on around them. There are cut-away segments throughout the film where the original tape in the camera ( the tape that is now been recorded over ) is shown, and it is through this where you begin to piece together the lives of the 'victims' who are on the run. Towards the end you are genuinly concerned for the outcome of the main players, BUT (spoiler-), who do you think would survive when a big 300m tall beast with 600m long arm things that eats humans, crosses 5 or 6 20somethings? Hmmm.

Just to finish off. There are some superb shots, like the one where a stealth bomber gets a direct hit on the creature, this filmed from the escaping helicopter, but it doesn't end there.....

PS. SEE THIS FILM!!! those who didn't like it confuse me, they are probably the type of person whose fave actor is Rob Schneider. Enough said.
