Set in a small Irish town, a postman delivers the wrong film for the monthly movie show prompting the Priest to halt the evenings entertainment. After the incident, the unmarried male inhabitants of the town decide to change their luck by placing an ad in an American newspaper inviting women to come join them at the town's annual St. Martha's Day Dance. However, their plan stirs up quite a reaction from the local unmarried women.
