Chloe Grace Moretz slates Carrey for Kick-Ass violence stance
Hit-Girl takes aim at the actor for condemning the movie.
'Kick-Ass' star Chloe Grace Moretz has slated Jim Carrey for turning his back on 'Kick-Ass 2' over its violence.
Carrey backed out of promoting the film, saying that since the Sandy Hook massacre, he could not sanction such violence on screen.
But Moretz, who plays Hit Girl in the comic book movie, has made her opinions on the matter known – and she's not held back.

“It's a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn't go to see ‘Pocahontas' because you are going to think you are a Disney princess,” she told The Sun.
“If you are that easily swayed, you might see ‘The Silence of the Lambs' and think you are a serial killer. It's a movie and it's fake, and I've known that since I was a kid.
“I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do.”

Carrey plays mob enforcer-turned-vigilante Colonel Stars and Stripes in the film, but made headlines when he decided to distance himself from it.
“I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence,” he tweeted.
“My apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.”
Meanwhile, Mark Millar, who wrote the original comic books, has said that Carrey's move has actually helped the movie rather than hindered it.
“People keep saying to me, ‘Are you pissed off at Jim Carrey?' No, I'm delighted with Jim Carrey, this is amazing,” he told Digital Spy.
“For your main actor to publicly say, ‘This movie is too violent for me' is like saying, ‘This porno has too much nudity. We'll have to go and see this now'.”
'Kick-Ass 2' is out on August 14.
