Clip: Michael Douglas is uncanny as Liberace (Exclusive)

Wall Street star transforms into flamboyant entertainer for 'Behind the Candelabra'.

Yahoo! UK Movies has an exclusive clip of Michael Douglas as Liberace in the forthcoming Steven Soderbergh biopic 'Behind The Candelabra'.

Douglas appears to have perfectly channelled the flamboyant pianist for the role, and has been receiving rave reviews for the portrayal.

In the clip, he gives his audience an insight into why he shifted from performing in a black tuxedo to his trademark outlandish attire.

From this evidence, Soderbergh's choice seems to be an inspired one, casting Douglas against his usual type when compared to his other pivotal roles in films like 'Wall Street', 'Falling Down' and 'The Game'.

And it's certainly a far cry from his next biopic role, playing former president Ronald Reagan opposite Christoph Waltz's Mikhail Gorbachev in Mike Newell's 'Reykjavik', about the 1986 summit between the USSR and the USA.

'Behind The Candelabra' also stars Matt Damon playing Liberace's lover Scott Thorson, while the screenplay was adapted from Thorson's book of the same name about his life with the star.

The HBO-produced film is out on 7 June.
