Colin Farrell had 'affair' with Liz Taylor
Actor says he had 'romantic but unconsummated' relationship with actress.
Colin Farrell has revealed that he had 'a romantic relationship' with screen legend Elizabeth Taylor.
Farrell and Taylor became close in the years leading up to her death in 2011, at the age of 79.
In an appearance on 'The Ellen Show' yesterday, Farrell told host Ellen DeGeneres that the pair had met while he was in hospital awaiting the birth if his son Henry.
“It was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I'm projecting, but the last kind of romantic relationship I had, which was never consummated,” he said.

“We were in Cedars and I bumped into – it was about an hour before Henry arrived – and I bumped into somebody outside the lift. It was Elizabeth's manager and her close friend Tim Mendelsohn and they said 'What are you doing here?'
“I said my son's about to be born. They said 'Oh'. I said 'What are you doing here?' And they said 'Well Elizabeth's having a stint put in her heart, it's no big deal cause she had so much s**t' and I said, 'Will you tell her I said hello? She probably won't know who I am'.
“And they go, 'No, she knows who you are', and I went 'Wow, cool. Well, tell her I said hello and I wish her the best', and they said, 'Will do'.”
It was after this that Farrell received flowers from Taylor congratulating him that their friendship began.

“I then cheekily about a week later said, 'Listen is there any chance I can go… can I go and see her?' That was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was a really cool...
“I just adored her. She was a spectacular, spectacular woman. I wanted to be [husband] number eight but we ran out of road.”
Farrell was one of the only non-family members at her funeral and even gave a reading.
Farrell is currently doing the promotional rounds for his latest movie, 'Saving Mr Banks', alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson.
