This family-oriented outing from director Steve Carr stars Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin as Charlie and Phil, a pair of advertising execs who are fired after being given the thankless task of trying to sell a breakfast cereal based on vegetables. So what do out-of-work ad men do? Well, they open a cheap day care centre of course. Across town though Miss Harridan (Anjelica Huston), the owner of the other local day care centre, is irked by her budget rivals and sets out to shut them down.
Fans of this genre of will know what to expect from this offering as Murphy once again proves that he knows what it takes to get laughs out of the youngest of generations. There's plenty of slapstick and one-liners on the go and while the premise may not be the most solid ever pitched (any parent that left their child in the care of these two individuals would need their heads checked), Daddy Day Care is pretty good fun.
