This is a special edition release of what is undeniably Kevin Costner's finest moment. The multi-Academy Award winning film comes with an impressive selection of extras including a commentary by Costner, a Making Of... and several other featurettes.

Costner plays American Civil War hero Lieutenant John Dunbar who, at his own request, is posted to a remote camp in South Dakota. Dunbar hopes to learn about himself from this solitary posting and lives a quiet, serene life until he comes into contact with a group of Sioux Indians. After several encounters, Dunbar befriends the Sioux and begins to learn of the terrible destruction the white man has inflicted on Native American land. The more time that Dunbar spends with the tribe, the more familiar he becomes with Sioux culture, until the Lieutenant begins to question how much he has in common with his own race.

Dances With Wolves is a stirring and beautifully shot study of one man's character and, arguably, is the apex of Costner's career.
