Laurel Elliott's quiet life in the wilderness is shattered when her old friend, Elizabeth, comes to visit. Laura learns that her husband has been having an affair with Elizabeth, and soon after, Elizabeth is found dead at the wheel of her car. As they investigate the death, life changes for everyone involved, including Laura, her husband, her daughter, her friend and the police detective.
