Die Hard 5 title is A Good Day to Die Hard

John McClane will return on Valentines Day 2013 in 'A Good Day to Die Hard'.

The US release date and new title have been announced by Fox, with Bruce Willis once again reprising the role of John McClane.

No word yet on a UK release date, or if the trademark sweaty vest will make an appearance.

'Max Payne' director John Moore will helm the fifth instalment in the ever-popular series, which has seen Willis take on all manner of villains. In the first 'Die Hard', Alan Rickman almost stole the show (as well as $640m in negotiable bearer bonds) as Hans Gruber, with Jeremy Irons almost matching him in 'Die Hard with a Vengeance'.

'A Good Day to Die Hard' is set to take place in Russia, and will feature McClane's son, Jack, joining his dad for an action-packed outing. In 'Die Hard 4.0' we saw the New York cop team-up with his daughter as well as a tech-nerd played by Justin Long.

'Die Hard' was released in 1988 and regularly tops movie fan polls as the best action movie of all-time. Although the sequels haven't quite matched up to the enduring appeal of the original, they have been successful at the box-office and a fifth instalment was always on the cards once Willis expressed an interest in making another film.

Willis is currently filming 'The Expendables 2' and 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' and will then move onto the fifth 'Die Hard'.

Before we get too upset about the romantic connotations of a Valentines Day release, it's worth remembering that the first film was set during Christmas, although we think McClane will have more to do than buy chocolates and wilted roses from a petrol station at the last minute. That's just our Valentine's ritual...
