YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

Eating brains is fun for Hoult

Nicholas Hoult has revealed how he truly threw himself into his new zombie role in Warm Bodies.

The X-Men: First Class star had to chomp on 'brains' for a scene in Jonathan Levine's zombie romantic comedy, which also stars Teresa Palmer as his human love interest Julie.

"Eating brains is fun. It's kind of like a cold, wet sponge they made the brains out of," he told Collider.

But former Skins actor Nicholas admitted it wasn't all fun.

"There was one day where there was a scene where I crack open Dave Franco's head to eat his brains. We used a dummy, and I actually pulled some of the dummy's hair out and it was on the brains so I ate a load of fake brains and the dummy's hair which wasn't the most pleasant experience," he recalled.

The 23-year-old said his zombie alter-ego R isn't as unfeeling as the undead.

"The idea that Jonathan came up with is that because these brains are memories: it's kind of like being alive again, it's kind of like a drug to the zombies. The brains is quite a release," he explained.

"Through killing Julie's boyfriend and eating his brains, he falls for her and then regains his humanity through being with her."
