In an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Movies, Law revealed whether he thought his famed looks had helped or hindered his career, having had full experience of the “sex symbol” title:

“Looking back now, I had a very fruitful, a very fortunate initial journey into cinema,” says Jude.

“I think at the time I was a little too keen to avoid being pigeon-holed as one particular thing. [But] in the end a career kind of reveals itself for what it is. And you can’t necessarily fight that. It just is what it is.”

We also got chance to ask Jude about his thoughts on ‘Side Effects’ director Steven Soderbergh’s rumoured retirement from the industry, having previously worked with the critically acclaimed filmmaker on 2011 virus flick ‘Contagion’:

“He certainly isn’t someone that says stuff for effect, says Jude. “I think he means it. Or at least he has to say it to believe it.”

“He feels that he’s done all that he wants to do, in cinema. I hope he comes back. But he’s certainly serious about it.”

‘Side Effects’, co-starring Rooney Mara, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Channing Tatum, is out now in the UK.
