Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are conspicuously absent from this third Fast And Furious outing, which stars Lucas Black as Sean Boswell, an outsider who finds himself avoiding jail by escaping to Japan to live with his estranged uncle, a career military man stationed in Tokyo.
Unfortunately the shock of finding himself alienated in a foreign country leaves Sean feeling more displaced than ever. Until that is, an angel of mercy in the shape of erstwhile child rap star Bow Wow, no longer a canine in human rapping form, shows up. Bow Wow is all grown up and now a fully fledged actor. He introduces Sean to the delights of ‘Drift Racing’, a type of contest that seems to be far more dangerous than Sean’s usual brand of drag racing.
Our hero, in his first venture into Drift Racing, unwittingly takes on the king of the Tokyo crime underground, D.K aka The Drift King [the clue is always in the name] and ends up with a large debt on his young shoulders when he loses. Forced to work it off under the watchful eye of ex-pat Han, he is introduced to a whole society of misfits who explain the finer points of Drift Racing.
Being young and never having heard the phrase ‘don’t bite the hand that feeds you’, Sean promptly falls in love with D.K’s girlfriend Neela, setting off a chain of events that culminates in a high stakes stand off between the two leads.
Special features include commentary with director Justin Lin, who also provides optional commentary on the deleted scenes. Also there's Drifting School, Cast cam, The Big Breakdown: Han's Last Ride, Tricked Out to Drift, The Real Drift King, The Japanese Way and Conteo music video.
