Set in modern-day Columbia, two brothers, Wilson and Tono, take different paths with their lives. Tono joins the army. Wilson leaves to fight with the guerrilla, leaving his wife, Paulina, and their child in the care of his brother and their mother. But when their town is attacked, and their mother killed, Paulina flees to Bogota but Tono, her loyal protector, must now follow.
