First look: Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop TV show

Actor is currently reprising his role as Axel Foley for the CBS pilot

The first on-set picture of Eddie Murphy reprising his iconic role of Axel Foley in the forthcoming 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV pilot has emerged.

The show's executive producer Shawn Ryan – who also created 'The Shield' – tweeted the picture of Murphy and Brandon T. Jackson, who plays Foley's son Aaron.

Ryan has also written the pilot episode, which, as per the US TV system, may be picked up for a full series by CBS if it's received well.

The action will centre around Jackson's Aaron, a young cop hoping to come out from the shadow of his father in Detroit and make his name in the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Alongside Murphy and Jackson, the cast will also feature Kevin Pollack as the BHPD's bolshy lawyer and an expected cameo from Murphy's original co-star Judge Reinhold reprising his role as Billy Rosewood.

The first episode will be directed by 'Men In Black' main man Barry Sonnenfeld.
