First Look: Josh Brolin in Sin City 2

Robert Rodriguez has released the first images from upcoming ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ to show off Josh Brolin as the new-look Dwight McCarthy.

Brolin will be taking over the role that Clive Owen played in the first movie, after the story called for the character to have facial reconstruction.

Rodriguez released two images from the film via Twitter, the one above, and a second on-set shot featuring Brolin up against a green screen backdrop.

“Here’s a bad ass Josh Brolin driving a Rodriguez-mobile (a green box with a steering wheel bolted on,” the director tweeted.

Rodriguez called the first image “a quick photo touch up I do to set the tone for the actors”, adding that  it “Probably won’t be raining in final movie”. Nice to know it’s not all bad news in Basin City.

Brolin joins a class of new additions including Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Julia Garner and Crystal McCahill as the fresh meat on set.

Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King all reprise their roles from 2005’s ‘Sin City’ - adapted from the Frank Miller graphic novel series of the same name.

This film, actually a prequel, will follow Brolin’s Dwight (originally played by Clive Owen), as he plots his revenge against the woman who betrayed him: Eva Green’s dame to kill for, Ava Lord.

‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’, is set for release October 2013.
