Set in 1954, two young men try to find meaning in their lives after returning home to Indianapolis after the Korean War. Shy, repressed Sonny and confident, athletic Gunner search for love, meaning and fullfillment across the barren landscape of hamburger stands and strip clubs that have come to typify middle America.
