'Star Wars' creator George Lucas has admitted that his involvement in Episode 7 will be very limited.
His role in future films has been reduced to "creative consultant" since he sold off his studio LucasFilm to Disney for a cushty $4 billion.
When asked about his involvement he told Access Hollywood: "Basically I'm not - I don't really have much to d o."
However he still feels he has his uses. Despite not being directly involved in the film's production, he said: "[If the filmmakers ask] 'who's this guy?', I can tell them. I mean, they have a hundred encyclopaedias and things, but I actually know a lot. I can say, 'This is this and this is that.'"
Episode 7 is set for a 2015 release with 'Toy Story 3' scribe Michael Arndt already on board to write the script.
The search for a director continues with nothing officially announced by Disney, however last week actor Jason Flemyng gave the strongest hint yet that 'Kick Ass' director Matthew Vaughn may be their man.
