To dive straight into the deep end, the film was terrible. Saved only by the acting skills of the main cast (NOT many of the support cast who had lines) the film lacked everything else that counted.
Effects were overplayed and costumes were largely based on stereotypes. Camera angles were all over the place and somewhat confusing a times, often lingering too long on one shot and then spending too little time on the next.
The comedy in the film was almost irritating in most cases, and was predictable enough to be lost for laughs.
The storyline itself produced no real surprises, and the plot twist seemed unnecessary and (for lack of a better term) stupid. One of the bigger action scenes in the piece didn't play any part but to introduce the 'plot twist' and was otherwise based on a complete irrationality which needn't have occurred. The whole sequence could've been taken out and it wouldn't have made any difference to either the characters or the plotline itself.
And the second plot twist, occurring before a scene at the hospital, makes no sense whatsoever. Continuity shifts from left to right and side to side and timescales don't seem to exist all of a sudden. Too much happens at once, and it becomes confused and overbearing on the audience.
I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone not under the influence of drugs. And even then it's iffy. For the record, the actors do extremely well considering how senseless the rest of the movie is.
This is by no means a professional review, hence why some of the rant may not make sense to you, even though it did to me as I typed it.
Thank you for reading.
