Hancock may well do for Will Smith's glorious film career what Last Action Hero did for Arnie's in the early 90's, ie completely stall it.
In previous summers Smith has been meticulously selective of his July 4th fodder. Not this time. Hancock is a poor man's Superman 3 at best.
Smith does have his moments. The film's opening sequence oozes cool, charm and charisma. What you might come to expect from one of Hollywood's leading lights. Sadly director Berg fails to sustain this charm past the 30 min's post and the film soon collapses (like many an office block within it) into an all out patchy mess.
Surely Smith's fans deserve better than this second rate Superhero flick.
