Following The March Of The Penguins people of all ages have really taken to the waddling creatures like never before so what better than an animated film in which they are the main characters. And they dance and sing too! A lot.
In Antarctica Emperor Penguins go to find true love by singing a special song. Unfortunately, our hero Mumble can't sing, but boy can he tap dance (hence Happy Feet).
Sadly the rest of the colony are unimpressed by Mumble's moves and blame his show-stopping influence for the lean fishing period they're enduring. So a disgruntled Mumble and his pals decide to find the true cause of the food shortage and set out on an adventure to reveal many heartfelt home truths.
The routines are mainly hilarious and entertaining, while, at times when the graphics are more realistic, also being a tad weird. It is totally spellbinding and not difficult to see why it spent several weeks at the top of the US box office when released in cinemas.
Ecological messages are also shoehorned in to a quite captivating family movie which deservedly won Best Animated film at the Oscars.
There's an interactive element to the special features as young viewers can 'Dance Like A Penguin' in the Stomp To The Beat challenge. Additionally there's the Creating The Tap and Behind The Scenes featurettes plus Somebody To Love music video.
