Worst Thing

A bit slow but very engrossing

Review

HOLLYWOODLAND is one of the best films to come out this year. It has so much style and so much credibility that it puts most films to shame.

The performances are uniformly strong, however leading lady DIANE LANE steals the show with an Oscar worthy tour-de-force performance unmatched by any other actress this year (except maybe Helen Mirren as The Queen). It is a remarkable performance that should get an Oscar nomination at least.

The film is also beautifully shot and wonderful to look at. To think that this film was made with a fraction of the usual $100 million budget some films are. Yet it looks so authentic and the era is captured flawlessly. It all never brings attention to itself, leaving you to sit back and marvel at the film. HOLLYWOODLAND is a treat to savor and DIANE LANE's performance is the icing on a very nice cake.
