Well, what can I say. I'm normally a big fan of Whalbergs movies and have enjoyed N,M Shaymans previous efforts. However while I'm sure the original story is as tense and riveting as it was intended to be this has not crossed over onto the big screen. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of watching this 'movie' whilst waiting for a delayed flight and have to say that it was probably the most boring 1 1/2 hours I've had to endure, in a cinema, for many years. In fact, I can only recollect ever walking out of a movie early twice in 20 years, but, if it wasn't for the fact I had no where else to go for 4 hours this would have been no.3. In his defence, Whalberg tried his best with a weak script and even weaker co-workers, however, even the greatest chef can do very little with broken eggs. The direction, camera work, dialogue and general level of acting reminded me more of a 1950's B movie than the headline grabbing ' fast paced, relentless and terrifying' movie it was meant to be. Though, I guess, the adjective terrifying could be used in a different context. Terrifyingly bad. Does the trade descriptions act apply to movie headling writing? If so - I'm definitely applying for a refund.
