Perfectly timed to capture the revival of interest in quality British sci-fi, Douglas Adams' much-loved galactic saga arrives after a 20 year gestation period.

In a role he was born for, Stephen Fry provides the voice of the eponymous book, receiving able support from Martin Freeman (Tim from The Office as Everyman Arthur), rapper Mos Def and Sam Rockwell. Screenwriter Carey Kirkpatrick retains Douglas Adams' idiosyncratic style as well as several of the iconic one-liners while developing a romantic tussle between Arthur, Trillion and Zaphod.

Packed with quality quirkiness, good gags and sharp acting from the transatlantic cast, Hitchhikers will delight the unsceptical cinemagoer. And if any die-hard fans tell you otherwise, remember what Douglas Adams said: "The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of idealism, struggle, despair, passion, success, failure, and enormously long lunch breaks."

This two-DVD Special Edition contains director's commentary; 'making of' featurettes; deleted (and fake) scenes; a set-top game and a singalong to Thanks For All The Fish.
