Hank Azaria acts out favourite Simpsons characters

Smurfs 2 villain reveals The Simpsons characters he loves to perform, and his ‘affinity’ with Moe.

‘Smurfs 2’ star Hank Azaria, who plays evil wizard Gargamel, doesn’t reserve his talents for thwarting the little blue guys – he’s a massively accomplished voice artist, and the backbone of ‘The Simpsons’.

For almost 25 years now, Azaria has been voicing familiar favourites on the iconic show such as Moe Syzslak, Chief Wiggum, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon and Comic Book Guy. So, doing the press rounds for ‘Smurfs 2’, we got a chance to ask the man of a thousand voices (well, 150 to be exact), which was his favourite to perform.

“Some of those are like had one line in one episode,” laughs Hank. “So in reality it’s about like 50 that really you’ll hear consistently.”

“My favourite to perform is Professor Frink,” he added before telling us that he has an “affinity” with his first ever character Moe the Bartender, “on almost a weird level, to almost a sick level.” Cue an epic demonstration.
