Harrison Ford’s latest film ‘Paranoia’ has bombed at the US box office, becoming the worst debut of the actor’s career.

Despite the name power of fellow cast-members Gary Oldman and Liam Hemsworth the $40 million thriller took only $3.5 million in the US over its opening weekend.

Being shown in 2,459 theatres across the country, this means the film took a pitiful $1,423 per cinema.

Entertainment Weekly report that this makes it the “worst debut of 2013 for a movie opening in more than 2,000 theatres”.

‘Paranoia’ debuted at 13th in a box office chart that included new entries ‘Jobs’ in 7th position, ‘Kick Ass 2’ in 5th and ‘The Butler’ on top with a $25 million haul.

The thriller directed by Robert Luketic has reviewed terribly and currently has a 4% rating on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

No release date has been set for the film in the UK.

Next up, Ford will be appearing in hotly-tipped 'Ender's Game', adapted from the hit Orson Scott Card novel of the same name. Although, thanks to Card's recent controversial comments (including comparing President Obama to Hitler) there are fears the writer could scupper the movie's chances. Check out the trailer below.
