Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch: I want a part in Fantastic Beasts

Evanna Lynch, who played “loony” Luna Lovegood in the ‘Harry Potter’ series, says she wants a part in creator J.K. Rowling’s new movie project ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To find Them’.

“When the news broke, that was the first I heard of it, and I had a bit of a freak out on Twitter,” admitted the 22-year-old actress. “I actually Tweeted at Warner Brothers ‘Please put me in the movie!’ They replied, they were like ‘Sounds good’. I don’t know what it means…”

A massive Potter fan, the Irish-born star was first cast in fifth instalment ‘Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix’ at the age of 14 - after beating 15,000 girls to the part of Luna and personally wowing Rowling.

But despite her enthusiasm to be re-admitted to Hogwarts, Evanna says she’s not sure how her character would fit the chronology on the upcoming series spin-off:

“I don’t think Luna will be in it, because [Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them] is set 70 years before [the Harry Potter Series]. I mean it took us 10 years to make Harry’s span at Hogwarts, 70 years of time lapse between [new protagonist Newt Scamander’s] life and when Harry’s born… I think I’ll be too old. I think I’ll be an old woman, by the time they get round to it.”

“But someone did say on Twitter you could do the story as the point of view from Luna narrating the story,” she added.
