Although the film was marvellously acted, and Will Smith performed a magnificent solo role, I believe, however, I believe that the general directing as well as the execution of the story, has much to be said for.
Although the story wasn't too bad, however it was clear that little focus was maintained on the story as a whole, since it was generally too small, with the constant use of flashbacks which continously failed to impress as well as produce agripping story. I find that the flashback technique, usually works well if a twist were to evolve in a story. But to use it over and over again throughout a story for memory's sake is just dull and makes a VERY boring film. Fair enough if t's just a one off, but time and time again maks it difficult for the audience to fully appreiciate the story as a whole. This type of execution style is clearly not effective as the general story presented was obviously unable to handle the length of the film and therfore was padded to an extreme length of flashbacks.
I feel that this technque of padding, made "I am Legend" into a film that is difficult to fully enjoy, hence a general overuse of special effects and violence. Other than that, the film wasn't too bad
