Ill Gotten Gain 1998

Set in 1869, years after the abolition of slavery when slavery was declared an act of piracy, punishable by death in some areas of the world. In order to capture the truth about this obscured taboo subject portions of the film were shot on location in Cameroon. Twenty four captives find themselves in the hold of the slave ship "Argon Miss" anchored off the Guinea Coast in West Africa. The wooden planks begin to breath. A spirit in THE WOOD manifests itself to the incarcerated men. Led by FYAH the incarcerated men try to force their way to freedom with a bloody uprising that yields few results.
